Grasshoppers, a Hong Kong band group, was founded in 1985. They are composed of Cai Yizhi, Cai Yijie and Su Zhiwei. They are named after the capital of their surname is “Xu”.
Grasshoppers participated in the 4th Hong Kong Rookie Singing Contest in 1985, and later joined Anita Mui to release the first Cantonese album of the same name “Grasshoppers” in 1988. Then they released songs such as “Baby Sorry” and “Lost Love Front Alliance” successively. Grasshoppers won the “Combination Gold Award” of the Hong Kong Grasshoppers Popular List for six consecutive years from 1990 to 1995. After 2000, the three men developed separately, but did not dissolve. In 2005, they joined BMA company and fought in Hong Kong music circle. In 2010, Grasshoppers held a concert to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their founding.
