Zheng Shaoqiu was born in Hong Kong on February 24, 1947. He is a native of Guangdong and a Hong Kong actor and singer.
Joined TVB in 1970 and began to star in TV series, movies and personal recordings. In 1976, he played the roles of “Chen Jialuo”, “Qianlong” and “Fu Kangan” in “Swords and Enemies”. In 1979, he played “Chu Liuxiang” in the martial arts drama “Chu Liuxiang”. In 1991, in the “Playing Qianlong” played “Qianlong” and received wide attention. In 1992, in the “Great Times” played “Ding Crab”, which created a unique phenomenon in Hong Kong stock market and economics since then, known as the “Ding Crab effect.” In 2005, he held the “Zheng Shaoqiu Family Biography Concert” at the Hong Kong Red Pavilion. In 2006, he was awarded the “Golden Needle Award” in the Hong Kong Music Awards. In 2007, the Hong Kong media selected “Top 100 Hong Kong Classic TV Characters” and Zheng Shaoqiu won seven classic characters. In the same year, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, Zheng Shaoqiu was invited to star in the TV series “Glory Return”, which reflects the history of Hong Kong’s return to the past decade. In May 2012, he starred in the TVB suspense drama “Heart War” and played “靳兆楠”. In 2015, he hosted the TVB variety show “Sunday’s Sound of the King”. On October 26, 2016, he was awarded an honorary academician by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to recognize his achievements in acting career.
